At Hope School and College, we value strong partnerships with parents and carers. Effective communication between home and school helps us work together to support each child’s learning, wellbeing and progress.

Keeping Contact Information Up to Date

It is essential that we have accurate and up-to-date contact details for all families.

Please inform the school office as soon as possible if there are any changes to:

• Home telephone numbers
• Mobile telephone numbers
• Email addresses
• Home addresses
• Emergency contact details

Having current information enables us to contact you quickly if your child becomes unwell or in the event of an emergency.

ClassDojo

At Hope School and College, we use ClassDojo as our primary home-school communication platform.

ClassDojo provides a simple and secure way for families and school staff to stay connected. Through the app, parents and carers can:

• Receive messages from class staff
• View updates, photographs and learning activities from your child’s class
• Keep informed about school events and important announcements
• Celebrate achievements and successes
• Communicate with staff regarding day-to-day matters

Using ClassDojo

ClassDojo is most effective when used for routine communication and sharing information.

Please use ClassDojo to:

• Share positive news, achievements or successes from home
• Ask simple questions about your child’s school day or classroom activities
• Arrange a meeting with your child’s class teacher
• Communicate minor concerns or day-to-day information
• Respond to messages from school staff

Please do not use ClassDojo to:

• Report your child’s absence, illness or medical appointments. These should always be reported directly to the school office by calling 01942 824150.
• Raise urgent concerns or safeguarding matters.
• Discuss complex or sensitive issues that require a detailed conversation.
• Communicate emergencies or information that requires an immediate response.

For urgent matters, please contact the school office by telephone so that appropriate action can be taken promptly.

Response Times

Our staff will always endeavour to respond to messages as quickly as possible. However, teachers and support staff are unable to respond during teaching time, meetings or when supporting pupils.

We therefore ask for your understanding if there is a delay in receiving a response.

Quiet Hours

To support staff wellbeing and maintain healthy work-life balance, ClassDojo operates with “quiet hours” between:

• 5:00pm and 8:00am on weekdays
• Weekends
• School holidays

You are welcome to send messages outside of these times if needed, but please be aware that staff will not be expected to read or respond until the next working day.
