Hope School and College recognise that students’ physical and emotional health and wellbeing is fundamental and also believes that for students to thrive in their community, their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development should be fostered and supported.
Emotional Health, Nurturing and Wellbeing has a very high profile within our school and college.
Hope School and College are currently working towards Emotionally Friendly School Accreditation (EFS). This is an award led by Wigan Local Authority and has very rigorous criteria.

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) provides a context for supporting the young persons’ wellbeing through teaching & learning. (Please look at the Curriculum Map for further details).
Hope School and College has recently been awarded accreditation for Autism supporting the individual needs of all students.
Our EFS Champions are: Pauline Lynch, Ann Durnin, Kate Marlor. Students and parents can approach any of these adults for support at any time.
