Key Stage 3

At Hope School and College, our Key Stage 3 department is committed to ensuring a smooth and successful transition from primary to secondary education. We recognise that moving to a new department can be both exciting and challenging, and we work closely with pupils and colleagues across the wider school community to provide the support, reassurance, and guidance needed during this important stage. Throughout the year, our department collaborates with a range of curriculum areas to create meaningful opportunities for pupils to build confidence, develop friendships, and feel fully included in school life.

One of the highlights of the summer term is our much-loved Broadway Way Senior Show. This production is a truly incredible achievement for our pupils and showcases their talents, determination, and hard work. The excitement generated by rehearsals spreads throughout the school, creating an infectious buzz that staff and pupils alike look forward to each year. As a school family, we take great pride in supporting and celebrating the performers, and the show consistently brings immense enjoyment to everyone involved.

Within the department, pupils follow one of our carefully designed learning pathways, ensuring that teaching and support are tailored to meet individual needs and help every learner achieve their potential. We begin each week with our popular ‘Monday Music Madness’ session, where the entire department comes together in the hall to share music, build positive relationships, and start the week with energy and enthusiasm.

Pupils also enjoy a wide range of lunchtime clubs, giving them the opportunity to choose activities that match their interests, develop new skills, and socialise with their peers.

Our weekly celebration assemblies provide a further opportunity to recognise achievements, celebrate success, and promote a strong sense of belonging within our department.
